Good story but the ending was very abrupt. A windfall (a cherrystone) in a time of limited resources causes tension between two groups and escalates into imminent battle. It would be a better story if the groups exhibited the same degree of agency after the cherry tree blossoms that they did during the discovery and planning phases but it transitions swiftly from the almost-battle scene to the blossoming cherry tree and the happily ever after.I'd hoped to read a skirmish story with illustrations of possible peacemaking strategies that inspires discussions about a variety of solutions.
